The Trust was conceptually proposed in October 2015 at a time when Yeovil Town Football Club were facing the prospect of relegation from the Football League. Many of the Yeovil Town supporters in attendance felt that the club had lost much of the support and goodwill of the area that has historically supported it. Following a further meeting to discuss the potential benefits and a near unanimous vote of over 325 supporters in January, Glovers Trust was born. The aim is to create an independent, regulated body that represents the voice of Yeovil Town supporters irrespective of location, with the collective power to influence positive changes and support, where identified in the operation of Yeovil Town Football Club.
We received the approval of Supporters Direct (Now known as the Football Supporters’ Association), the Government funded body who oversee Supporters Trusts and we are fully registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. We were officially up and running!
WE CAN STAND BY AND DO NOTHING OR WE CAN STAND TOGETHER AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Owned by the fans and for the fans, Glovers Trust will have a role to play in the future of our Club and Community. The place of Glovers Trust in the local area will be at the forefront of the thinking of the Glovers Trust and will be a cornerstone in the development of the Trust.
Glovers Trust is independent from Yeovil Town Football Club; We are a democratic, not for profit, one member, one vote organisation committed to giving supporters a strong voice in the decision making process at our Club and together, strengthening the links between the Club and the Community it serves.
