Rob Couhig Statement Regarding Failed Takeover Bid

The Glovers Trust have received the Statement below from Rob Couhig following the announcement on Wednesday that his attempt to purchase the Football Club has fallen through:

“I am disappointed that the owners of Huish Park Partnership Limited, John Fry and Norman Hayward, and I were not able to satisfactorily conclude our negotiations. The team’s unfortunate relegation was not the reason nor was it the price.

Missy and I will always have fond memories of Yeovil. It has been a privilege to make friends and acquaintances in the community. We will be returning soon and look forward to seeing everyone at that time.

The club is extraordinary fortunate to have such a loyal and supportive fan base. I am confident that with proper leadership the team can regain its rightful place in the Football League. While I had hoped to help lead that renaissance, that is not to be.

I remain very excited about the opportunity presented in a properly run Football Club. In the very short time since the Board of Yeovil made its decision, I have been approached with several potentially excellent opportunities in Football. Mark Palmer and I will begin examining those Clubs in the coming days and with a little luck, hope to be able to compete this season.

My thanks go out to Mark, Neale, the fans, supporter groups, sponsors, the ‘Don’ at Tamburino’s and, of course, the staff at Lanes for making us feel welcome and excited about the potential with the Glovers.”

The Trust Board would like to publically thank Rob for his efforts to provide fresh direction and investment to our beloved Club and wish him well in his aim to make a success of a Football Club of his own.
