Trust Bolstered with Two Additions to the Board

The Glovers Trust are delighted to announce two new Board members – David Tolley and Jon Hartley. Both were co-opted after a recent Board meeting in November and bring with them great experience and skillsets.

A born and bred Yeovilian, David has been supporting the Glovers since 1965 and despite living and working in Wales for many years gets to as many games – home and away – as possible. When he can’t, he always listens on Radio Somerset.

David’s professional experience is a real asset to the Board. He had a varied career in management in the Probation Service, the Welsh Assembly Government and subsequently management performance audit. He also taught Business and Management at University level. Now nearly retired from paid employment, David is a non-exec director with two social enterprises, one a profit-based company which donates the non-retained profit to charity, the other a charity providing a number of work-based placements for those with learning and/or physical disabilities.

He’s keen to ensure club transparency and maximum fan input during and after the inevitable changes which our club will undergo in the near future. David is committed to boosting the Trust’s membership numbers, improving inclusion (with particular regard to women, younger supporters and those with disabilities), engaging constructively with the club’s current owners and staff and playing a role in preparing for the future.

Joining David as part of the new Board line-up is Jon Hartley. Jon started watching Yeovil at an age where he could barely see over the Huish terrace wall and has been supported the club ever since.

More than 30 years on he has to follow the club’s fortunes (via iFollow) from further afield and lives in Cologne.

He’s been a sport media professional for around 15 years and has previously worked on TV programming for the Premier League, Football League, FA, UEFA, BT, Borussia Dortmund & more. He now works for the German Football League (Bundesliga) and has a key role in the international broadcasting of the league. He can even be found commentating Bundesliga matches for a worldwide audience from time to time.

With his professional background, Jon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about the football industry and media. While understanding the challenges ahead, he’s committed to helping the Trust shape a positive future for the club with the supporters at its heart. To do that, Jon will be working to spreading the word of the Trust’s work and increasing membership to making sure that supporters play a vital role in whatever the future holds for YTFC.

Welcome to the Board David and Jon!
