Trust Statement – Supporter Alliance Group Consultation Meeting

The Glovers Trust Board of Directors would like to inform it’s members that representatives of the Trust Board have been invited to attend a meeting at Huish Park on Tuesday September 20th, along with representatives of the various Yeovil Town Supporters Groups. The main item on the agenda is the proposal of a Supporter Alliance Group.

After much consideration the Trust Board have decided to decline this offer and have written to the Club Secretary as below.

Dear Kirstie,

We are pleased to report that after a successful AGM on Wednesday 14th September 2016 we now have a democratically elected Board to represent Yeovil Town Supporters Society Ltd (Glovers Trust).

Thank you for the invitation to a meeting on Tuesday 20th September 2016 with the Chairman, John Fry and the Supporters Clubs at which the general agenda will centre around a ‘Supporters Alliance Group’. Having considered the invitation the Board wish to indicate that the offer of attendance is declined.

We would like to point out that we are a totally independent community benefit society and in order to maintain that independence for our members we do not feel that joining an Alliance Group is in our best interest.

The Board are actively seeking members opinions on ways to improve the match day experience at Huish Park and to halt the drift in crowd attendances. We shall shortly draw up an agenda and will seek a Board to Board meeting in order to progress our aims in an effort to help the Club and Supporters reconnect We believe that time is of the essence in order to prevent a continuing downward spiral of our Club and to that end we look forward to setting up a meeting with you soon.

Yours faithfully

Brendon Owen
Chairman
